If you turn on your LCD monitor and strange things happen; for instance, all you have to look at is an empty/black screen, or it takes longer and longer for your LCD monitor to start, or the picture is unreadable, replacing the capacitors will probably help restore your LCD monitor back to normal. Repairing, ext… However when it came to getting the monitor back off I didn’t want to mess it up (no screws anymore?>lame.). So thanks for showing the correct way.
Your tutorial was clear & concise. One thing I would have mentioned is that capacitors do hold a charge and you can potentially get a nice “jolt” from one.

In how many languages do you read write and converse ? I can only do it in four, English is the third I learned, so if I make a mistake it is because I think in one and write in another.

There was a thunder and my monitor died after it , i took it apart , tested some diodes and replaced bad ones, voila , works again
Just because there isnt any bulge on the capacitors, it doesnt mean that its good. You should use a multimeter to check the capacitance, an analog meter to check the resistance and an ESR meter to check the ESR resistance.

Great video. I was out walking and I spotted an LCD monitor in a dumpster and I remembered seeing a video about replacing the power capacitors so I pulled it out and took it home. After I plugged in a power cord and turned it on the monitor seemed ok so I plugged it into a computer and it worked. I didn’t have to replace anything. FREE STUFF!!!

Found a Samsung Sync Master 204B on the curve, useing it now but it flickers and seems to need time to warm up to come on bright and possible short in the cable connection I have to wiggle around for it to come on do you think its a easy fix?

Hi there can you give me some advice? I have an acer 19′ AL1916W widescreen LCD monitor which is working but the top 1/4 of the screen is very hard to see the rest of the monitor is fine. When you place the mouse in this part of the screen it becomes very hard to see. Is this a cap issue? Or a throwaway? Thanks heaps

okay, i want to make sure about this before i start. Today, my friend was about to throw away his SyncMaster 204B LCD monitor. He never used it. I wanted it because i wanted a LCD screen. When i connected the monitor to? my computer, the screen would not light up at all. My friend came over, and he said he could see it very dimly, and i mean very dimly. Like it was still pitch black. I would like your opinion before i start replacing the components. Thank you.
